Employment Opportunity Posting Date: August 2, 2010 Position: Airport Manager Location: Markham, Ontario, CANADA Toronto Airways Ltd. (TAL) owns and operates the Toronto Buttonville Municipal Airport (CYKZ). Since 1963 the Toronto Buttonville Municipal Airport has served as a vital link to the Greater Toronto area and surrounding regions. It is ranked the 10th busiest airport in Canada. Core businesses operated by TAL at this airport include the Million Air Toronto FBO and Toronto Airways Flight Training - the largest flight school in Canada. Others who call Buttonville their base include the Buttonville Flying Club, aviation college operations, corporate and business aviation charter operators, private flight operators and aircraft sales/brokerage/management firms. Operations are 24/7 and in total there are 300 tenant aircraft at the airport. TAL has an opening on their management team for a senior, experienced, aviation and airport management/operations professional to join them in the role of Airport Manager. Scope of Position: The Airport Manager is a trusted and experienced member of the senior airport management team. The role ensures the best use of organization's aviation related resources, ongoing operational soundness, safety, security, general readiness, sound airside maintenance and continuity of operations. This position is tasked with all weather and emergency related response, direction, management, execution and associated issues and needs. The role is also tasked with oversight of general management of facilities, the airside environment as a whole and oversight of all airport security screening and administration. The Airport Manager interacts on behalf of the airport with all regulatory and community groups/authorities. In addition, this role is responsible for airport SMS development, adherence and training. In general this role is to be performed with the “trust” of the President and Vice President, Finance and Operations and on a day-to-day basis is to work in a self-regulated and autonomous manner, professionally executing and ensuring the operational soundness and integrity of the airport as a unit. The Airport Manager aids in defining and planning the airport related strategic and short/intermediate/long-range goals. Additionally the Airport Manager will assist as required in evaluating the airport operational structure and help to ensure that it is aligned with the company, regulatory and customer service objectives. He/she is to work with the business unit managers to manage effective lines of communication and chains of responsibility. Maintenance Trainer (CRJ 200 & 700/900) Location: Toronto based with extensive travel in Canada and Internationally
Our client is an Internationally recognized firm who specializes in regional aircraft training for flight, cabin and maintenance personnel. As an authorized Bombardier Training Provider, they currently supply service around the world through a team of professional, full time and contract employees to established regional airlines. This well respected firm has posted progressive growth since its inception and continues to develope new market opportunities as the regional airline world grows. Currently the company has an immediate need for qualified CRJ-200 and -700/900 rated B1 and/or B2 maintenance professionals to take on the role of Maintenance Trainer. Both full-time and contract positions are available. While most of the training will take place in Canada, there will be a requirement for some international travel. Salary is commensurate with experience. The people we seek must have good interpersonal skills and be comfortable presenting a technical course to like minded professionals. Classroom presentation experience is a requirement along with the ability to articulate and present ideas and concepts and develop communication and interaction with "students".
